John Nelson Beck, father and grandfather, disappeared the morning of Tuesday February 9th, 2016 after he was dropped off at the 1300 block of Clay Street, Oakland.

John didn't show up for a scheduled business appointment in Oakland but was instead captured by BART security cameras boarding a train at 12th Street/Civic Centre.

Scores of online volunteers have been scouring social media since John’s disappearance.

In a photo posted from Lands End Trail, John can be seen walking along the coastal path with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

We are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Lands End, Sutro Baths, Baker Beach and the Presidio on Tuesday February 9, 2016 to contact police. Any detail, no matter how small, might help the investigation and search.

Known Facts
  • John Beck was wearing navy blue pants, a long-sleeved green/blue plaid shirt, prescription glasses and a cloth hat.
  • John Beck is 5’ 11”, 180 lbs and 73 years old.
  • John Beck does not suffer from any medical ailments that would cause him to become disoriented or lose his memory.
  • The last known sighting of John Beck was on Lands End Trail at 12:08pm on Tuesday February 9, 2016.
